“I’m writing to express my gratitude for the fantastic scholarship you’ve provided for me. Your
help has allowed me to continue my education at Phoenix College. I’m a sophomore studying
marketing and sales. After I graduate, I hope to use my marketing degree to make a positive
effect in the world of business.
Growing up in a low-income household, I never thought college was an option for me until my
guidance counselors told me about generous people willing to help. As a first-generation
Hispanic student, my parents gave up everything for me to pursue my dreams. We didn't have
the same privileges and luxuries as other families, but I was taught the importance of discipline
and good values by my father who emigrated from Mexico in search of a better life for us.
Realizing that my weaknesses should not limit me despite our circumstances, gave me the
courage to strive towards achieving my goal of attending college and scholarships are what
make it all possible.
Your scholarship has significantly impacted my academic goals and long-term professional
aspirations. My financial situation has improved, allowing me to devote more time to my
academics, internships, and extracurricular activities. This assistance has relieved the stress of
tuition payments and allowed me the ability to pursue my interests and obtain practical
experience, which is extremely valuable in an academic environment.
