GateWay Community College

Founded in 1968, GateWay Community College is Arizona’s first technical college, and has built a legacy of innovation and responsiveness to the needs of the Maricopa County Community. GateWay helps students take the most direct path to their dream career. With our trade and technical training programs, also known as clock programs, you can earn a certification in your desired field in as little as six months. You will learn by doing, receiving hands-on training from industry professionals.

Today GateWay has five campuses across the Valley, in Phoenix, Buckeye, Avondale, and two in Phoenix. In addition, GateWay has a Water Resource Technologies training facility in partnership with the City of Surprise, The Center for Entrepreneurial Innovation (CEI), a new business incubator, CEI LabForce, a Small Business Development Center, and Phoenix Forge, the largest makerspace in Arizona. Together, the college offers more than 160 degree and certificate programs, as well as trade, technical, and workforce training. GateWay maintains a Workforce Development team to work collaboratively with local industry leaders, hosting program specific annual and semi-annual Advisory Board meetings for our Trade and Technical Training programs. Board members are actively engaged industry partners, collaborating to shape GateWay’s workforce development programming with an eye toward future workforce needs within their industries. Often these board members become the first employers of our graduates, through GateWay’s career programming.

Colleen Doyle, Memorial Scholarship Recipient

“This scholarship is such a blessing for me and my 2 kids. After losing my husband and being the only support for my kids, things have been a little tougher, but I made a commitment to my kids and myself that our dreams will be our new reality. With this community behind me I will go far in my career of being a Radiologic Technologist. Thank you!”
