My name is Frida, and I was selected to receive the Ronnie Lopez Leading with the Heart Scholarship for the 2026–2027 school year. I want to thank you for helping make this scholarship possible.
I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona, and I was raised by a single mother alongside my three siblings. I am also a mother to my young son, which has been one of the most meaningful and motivating parts of my life. Becoming a parent at a young age shaped me into a more determined and focused individual. It has pushed me to continue my education not only for myself, but to create a better future for my son and to set an example of hard work and perseverance. Additionally, my father was deported when I was a child, and that experience has further motivated me to pursue the opportunities my parents worked so hard to provide.
I am currently in my second year of Paralegal Studies at Phoenix College. My goal is to begin my career as a paralegal and continue my education to eventually become a lawyer. I am passionate about helping others and making an impact, which is why I have also been interested in fields like therapy, where I can listen, understand, and support people through challenges.
Receiving this scholarship will have a meaningful impact on my education and future. It will help reduce financial stress, allowing me to focus more on my studies, my responsibilities as a mother, and opportunities such as assignments, group projects, and volunteer work. Because of your generosity, I am able to stay focused on achieving my goals and building a stable and successful future.
My long-term aspiration is to be the best mother I can be and to accomplish the dreams my parents worked so hard to help me pursue. I want to show my son that anything is possible through dedication and hard work, and to provide him with the future he deserves.
