I want to personally thank you for allotting me this scholarship to continue my education as a respiratory care practitioner. By receiving this generous donation, I feel a weight lifted off of my shoulders from the need to pick up extra shifts at work during my school semester. Last semester, I worked full time working as many as four jobs at one point.
Some nights I would not get home until 9:00 pm and then leave for school at 6:00 am. I wondered if I would want to continue next semester. Thankfully to generous donors such as yourselves, next semester I am attending school at full scholarship! I will be able to work my two current jobs with ease and put my education first. As a current Air Force Reservist, I wear my MED patch with pride in my job as a medic.
I am thrilled to continue my education to fill the role in CCAT for the Air Force. As a CCAT respiratory therapist, I will respond to critically injured patients and perform an air evacuation alongside a nurse and a doctor. This donation not only serves me but also the Air Force. Last semester I was grateful to accept $1,000 in scholarship awards for my community service and honors college accomplishments. Thank you for showing me what is possible and supporting me in this endeavor.
