“Firstly I’d like to express my gratitude for the generous scholarship I received. Thank you SO much for contributing to my education in a way that allows me to focus more on my studies, and less on funding them. I am currently at Chandler-Gilbert Community College exploring my interests in math, physics and computer science, with the goal of finding a career path in STEM that excites me and contributes meaningfully to the forefront of society’s technological progress. CGCC is one of the first colleges to offer a full Artificial Intelligence track, and I’m excited to continue down it. I see machine learning and AI being continually integrated into every facet of daily life and I want to participate in that integration. After completing my studies at CGCC, I plan to attend a four-year college (yet to be determined which one) and likely pursue post-graduate studies as well. This scholarship relieves a significant amount of my financial burden for this upcoming semester. I am self-funding my education, which requires me to work or take on debt. The award you’ve granted me allows me to worry less about making the financial equation work and therefore dedicate more of my cognitive bandwidth to my studies. Again, thank you. The life accomplishment I’m most proud of is regaining physical independence after becoming paralyzed in a car accident in 2014. I’ve learned to take care of my daily needs, work full time jobs, and excel in my academic pursuits, all from a wheelchair with the significant challenges that come with paralysis.
