The Maricopa IT Institute (MITI), in partnership with the Garcia Family Foundation and the AWS coalition, is dedicated to enhancing IT talent pipelines through student recruitment, employment pathways, scholarships/stipends, company-branded institutional certificates of completion, employability skills training, and internship case management.

The Garcia Family Foundation supports the following course pathways that lead to industry certifications. Students will be responsible for scheduling and taking industry certification exams on their own time. One (1) exam voucher will be provided to each student for industry certification exams covered by the scholarship. Courses will be taken at Scottsdale Community College (SCC) and Mesa Community College (MCC) for the East Valley Cohort and Glendale Community College (GCC) and South Mountain Community College (SMCC) for the West Valley Cohort

  • Computer System Configuration and Support (CIS 105, BPC 170, BPC 270 & 2 exam vouchers for CompTIA A+ Core 1 and 2)
  • Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner (CLD 110 & exam voucher)
  • Introduction to Networks (CNT 140AB)
  • Switching, Routing, and Wireless Essentials (CNT 150AB)
  • Amazon Web Services Cloud Architect (CLD 120 and exam voucher)

The scholarship will award up to $2,500 for each student within both the East Valley and West Valley cohorts for the 2025-26 academic year, which includes both Fall and Spring semesters. It will only cover tuition, tuition-related fees, and exam vouchers. The estimated cost for Fall is $1666 (includes voucher fees), and the estimated cost for Spring is $1310 (includes voucher fees). Any fees exceeding the $2,500 award amount will be the responsibility of the student.
