Following the example set by many of the District’s ten colleges, the first annual District Office Annual Fund Campaign was conducted this past spring. Under the direction of the Foundation’s development staff and working with a committee of committed volunteer s from District Office divisions, employees were given the opportunity to make a gift to the “Educating Our Community. Ensuring Our Future” campaign.
The campaign’s design benefited greatly from the experience of successful annual campaigns at currently in place at many of the colleges in the district. The District Office Campaign was a resounding success! Over a two week period, employees made gifts and pledges totally over $38,000 to a scholarship fund created to assist students in need. Approximately 32% of employees in the District Office participated by making a gift. The level of commitment from Maricopa Community College employees district-wide sends a powerful message to the community about the regard the District’s own employees have for the students and programs in which they invest their working hours. It also speaks to the pressing need for additional resources to assist students in being successful. Maricopa Community College employees are proud to have had the opportunity to participate in the “Educating Our Community. Ensuring Our Future” campaign and look forward to partnering with the community to meet and exceed the campaign’s goals in ensuring student success.
