Allison E.

GateWay Community College

“I received wonderful schooling that provided me with a career and not just a job.”

Allison has always dreamed of changing the world by working in the medical profession. By studying Nuclear Medicine at the Maricopa Community Colleges, she learned different applications in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Allison had many obstacles while on her journey towards pursuing her dream.

“I was going through a lot of personal problems at the time and the teachers were very understanding and worked with me to stay in the program,” Allison said. “My teachers were very aware of what was going on and if they weren’t as caring and understanding, I probably wouldn’t have been able to finish the program.”

A graduate of GateWay Community College, she said that there were many resources available and networking opportunities.

“The teachers were very passionate about the field they were teaching,” she said. “They encouraged us to got to local nuclear medicine meetings and meet other professionals in the field.”

Allison currently lives in California and is a PET Scan Technologist, putting her skills to use every day.

“I received wonderful schooling,” she said. “GateWay provided me with a career and not just a job. I got much more than I expected and I am so lucky for that.”
