Ever since I was in the 3rd grade I knew I always wanted to attend college, but figuring out my major was the difficult part. It went from criminology to business management to finally elementary education. I love kids and I love helping and changing young lives for the better!
I can’t thank you enough for awarding me this amazing scholarship! I’m excited to thrive within the Maricopa Community Colleges, and with your help and generous scholarship to my academic success, I will continue to work hard and do my absolute best!
Over the past few years, I’ve dealt with a lot not just from my family but from my health as well. Just this past year alone I faced being homeless, losing my job, having a miscarriage, and also being diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Thankfully I’m now cancer-free but there’s still that chance of it reappearing. I also suffer from endometriosis which also has a negative effect on my life.
I’m currently still fighting those battles, but I know that I want to stay in school and work my absolute hardest to get my degree to help change the lives of young individuals. This past year has been very difficult but I continue to work hard and push myself because I know who I want to be in life and I know the steps I need to take in order to get there.
