The moment I found out I was selected for the Garcia Family Foundation Scholarship Program, I was thrilled about the opportunity and struck by the excitement and motivation it would provide. It’s been over 10 years since I was in college, and coming back to it, I thought I had missed my shot at being selected for something like this. I was wrong!
Within my first semester back in college, I was recommended to check out available scholarships and discovered the Garcia Family Foundation Scholarship. I noticed that I met the qualifications, such as GPA and minimum enrolled credit hours, so I applied. With some patience, I received an acceptance email and was welcomed with tremendous support from everyone in the program.
The Garcia Family Foundation Scholarship covered a big portion of my tuition and included vouchers for the CompTIA A+ and AWS Cloud Practitioner/Solutions Architect Associate certification exams. I’ve passed my CompTIA A+ Core 1 and Core 2 exams, as well as the AWS Cloud Practitioner exam, and will be taking the AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification in a few months.
With the support of this program, I’ve been able to focus on studying, earning credentials and gaining the valuable skills needed for long-term success in the Information Technology industry. I can now confidently say I will graduate by December 2026 with an Associate’s Degree in Network and Systems Administration! I look forward to following up with everyone in the Garcia Family Foundation with updates on my successes in the near future, and I’m truly grateful to have been able to participate in this scholarship program.
