Rhiannon

Chandler-Gilbert Community College

I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your donation. It means even more to me, having shared my personal story with you all, that you decided to take a chance on me and my educational dreams.

“I would like to share with you why I am in school and the impact your donation will have on me,” said Rhiannon, a student at Chandler-Gilbert Community College.

Rhiannon feels that there is no place for inequality in healthcare which she says should be easily available to all. “Healthcare inequality can be due to race, sexuality, gender, economic status, and place of living, she said. “As a woman who is a person of color and an individual who identifies with the LGBTQ community, I feel quite more sensitive to equal opportunity,” she said. “ By limiting the number of resources available to people, it limits their ability to choose a provider who best fits their needs. Combine these factors with low income or difficulty accessing healthcare centers, and it can create an even greater strain on a patient. This should not be necessary, and it would be something I would like to change by providing myself as an option in the healthcare space for those who need an affordable and closer option.”

Rhiannon’s ultimate goal is to own an obstetrics/gynecological practice for the populations she mentions, after completing her master’s degree.

“Please know that you are changing lives with your generosity! I can say that confidently because you have changed mine.”
